“Photobooth”– Portrait Series by Zachary Proctor

Having two teenagers, I’m in the afternoon of my child rearing years.  I can really see how the acquisition of knowledge and skill is a marathon not a sprint.   They have done countless flashcards (countries, states, capitals, equations, kings, queens, periodic tables, whathaveya).  I’ve chauffeured to endless piano lessons, wrestling meets, ballet rehearsals, and tutoring sessions.  What my children have actually LEARNED is how to practice.  I think my husband and I have successfully beaten the illusion of “overnight success” out of them.  Hopefully they can still dream.

Utah artist Zachary Proctor decided to paint 100 portraits for this series.  He knows that practice makes perfect.
